Q?
Why the nails still look very long after trimming ?
-
A.
When you fail to trim your dog’s nails on a regular basis, the quick grows with the nail. In some cases, when the nails are very long, the quick may lengthen so much that is reaches the tip of the nail. When this happens, you won’t be able to trim much of the nail without risking cutting through the quick.

Q?
How often do people express their dog’s anal glands?
-
A.
It varies by dogs, some dogs never have an issue. Their anal glands express themselves naturally. Some dogs get their anal glands manually expressed a couple time a year. The key thing is to monitor your dog for the symptoms;
1) Your dog is scooting on the floor
2) Your dog is licking his bottom a lot
3) If your dog’s anal glands are very full, they may leak out a stinky smell.
4) Some brownish material in places where your dog has been sitting , such as your furniture or your lap.

Q?
When should my puppy come in for a first groom?
-
A.
We recommend they come in as soon as they have had their second set of vaccinations from the vet. It’s important to have your puppy groomed as soon as possible, that let she /he get used to the grooming environment, sound and smell. After all, your pet will be hairy for the rest of his/her life, they will stay in salon for longer time during the grooming. If the puppy gets used to the environment, she/he will enjoy the grooming session for the rest of life.

Q?
How much does it cost for my pet to be groomed?
-
A.
Just as there is a wide range of breeds of dogs, there is a wide range of prices. Please feel free to call us any time for a quote. Pricing will depend on the size of your pet, the condition of the coat, and the type of haircut you’d like.

Q?
Will my dog be in a crate the whole time?
-
A.
Although most dogs just fall asleep in their crates, your dog does not have to spend the whole time they are with us in a crate. We do like to give everyone some time to stretch their legs and sniff around the salon. They are always safely enclosed with their groomers. Please let us know if your dog is shy, nervous, or does not like other dogs and would prefer to relax alone in their crate.

Q?
Can I stay and watch while you groom my pet?
-
A.
No, it is not safe for you to stay and watch your pet being groomed. Your pet loves you very much and will wiggle and move around trying to get close to you. Even just smelling or hearing you in the front waiting room will get your fur baby excited. Your pets may reject to keep calm during the whole grooming and it will be dangerous for them when we using all type of tools around them. Best to drop off your pet at his/her scheduled appointment time, and then come back when he/she is completely done. Feel free to give us a call on the phone any time to find out how your pet is doing.

Q?
What do I need for my pet first visit to grooming shop? And what do I need to bring ?
-
A.
Before your pet comes to the salon, we strongly recommend they have a chance to relieve themselves. They may want to have a meal first, but keep in mind if your pet is nervous, he/she might do better with an empty stomach, so they don’t get sick. Feel free to bring along any special blankets, toys, or treats that you know your pet loves. Also, feel free to bring a photo of the type of haircut you would like to request.

Q?
How often should my pet be groomed?
-
A.
It depend on the type of breed and the length of coat. Non-shedding breeds should be groomed every 4-8 weeks. We recommend shedding breeds be groomed at least every 6-12 weeks, although a lot of our clients like to have their shedding breed bathed every month. It helps reduce a lot of shedding around the house.
